Maldives beat Sri Lanka 1-0 in the SAFF Championship

Kathmandu: Maldives has defeated Sri Lanka in the SAAF Championship Football. Maldives beat Sri Lanka 1-0 in a match played at the National Stadium in Malले on Sunday.

Ali Ashfaq of Maldives scored the decisive goal in the sixth minute of the match. With this victory, Maldives has risen to the tenth position in the table and has strengthened its chances of reaching the final.

Maldives has 6 points in three games. With this defeat, Sri Lanka has been eliminated from the tournament. Sri Lanka is out by one point.

As the Maldives climbs to the tenth position, it will be difficult for Nepal along with India. Nepal is currently at the top with six points in two games. India are fourth with two points from two games.
