Gujarat defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in a match played in Mumbai last night. Gujarat met the target of 190 runs set by Punjab by losing 4 wickets in 20 overs.
Gujarat’s Subman Gill played a half-century innings of 96 runs. Gujarat needed 19 runs in the last over.
Rahul Tewatia hit two sixes and David Miller hit a four to give Gujarat a thrilling victory. Kagiso Rabda of Punjab took two wickets and Rahul Chahar took one.
Earlier, batting first, Punjab lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and scored 189 runs. Liam Livingstone of Punjab played a half century innings of 64 runs.
Gujarat’s Rashid Khan took three wickets and Darshan Nalkande two. Gujarat, which added six points in three games with the victory, has risen to the second position in the table.
This is the second defeat of Punjab. Punjab is in the sixth position with two points in four games.
