Women’s World Cup: Australia and Nigeria are in the last 16

The host Australia has secured a place in the knockout stage by defeating Canada 3-0 in the home match in Melbourne on yesterday.

Canada has been eliminated from the competition after finishing third with 4 points in 3 games.
Nigeria will reach the last 16 by playing a goalless draw against Ireland in the match at the Suncorp Stadium in Australia today.
Nigeria is in the second place with 5 points in 3 games and has reached the last 16. Ireland exits with 1 point from 3 matches.
The final match of the ninth edition, which is being held in Australia and New Zealand, will be held in Stadium Australia on August 20.
