Nepali judo team to leave for Bahrain tomorrow for Asian Youth Games

Kathmandu – The Nepali judo team is set to leave for Bahrain tomorrow to participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games. Although the Asian Youth Games have already begun, the judo competition will begin on Wednesday, October 29.
Samita Nepali will be competing in the women’s under-44kg category in judo from Nepal. She is a member of the Prisoners’ Aid Mission (PAM) and has 13 competitors in her competition.
The committee’s coach is national team member Devaki Maya Shrestha. Pam’s assistant judo coach Devaki is also a product of Pam.
The team was bid farewell by Ward No. 1 of Nagarjuna Municipality, Kathmandu, during a program today. At the program, Ward Chairman Rameshwor Lama promised to personally honor the team with a cash award of Rs 25,000 if they win a medal.
Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsh Bajracharya and IT expert Suprasiddha Tamrakar will also leave for Bahrain tomorrow for the Asian Youth Games.
